Effective Date: October 14, 2026
Integrated Photonics & Optical Communication Studio is a Windows engineering application developed and provided by Hangzhou Xishang Technology Co., Ltd. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the application.
1. Account and Entitlement Information
The application may process limited account and entitlement information required to sign in, provide Free or paid access, restore a Microsoft Store purchase, and maintain licensed access. This may include an email address, user identifier, product entitlement status, and authorization records.
Backend account and entitlement services may use Supabase. Microsoft Store processes payment and Microsoft-account information under Microsoft's own policies. We do not receive or store full payment-card information.
2. Device Authorization and Offline Access
Where enabled, limited device authorization information may be used to enforce applicable device limits, provide offline authorization, restore purchases, and reduce unauthorized sharing of paid entitlements.
Authorization data is used for licensing and security rather than advertising.
3. Engineering Projects and Imported Data
The application can process photonics and optical-communication engineering projects, including material parameters, waveguide/device models, PIC layouts or networks, S-parameters, sweep settings, link parameters, tolerance data, optimization inputs, and other user-supplied engineering files.
Normal deterministic solver workflows are designed to run locally on the user's Windows computer. Project files, imported engineering data, simulation results, plots, and reports are not intentionally uploaded to our servers as part of ordinary simulation workflows.
4. Photonics Design Agent, Local Models, and User-Provided API Keys
The application may include a Photonics Design Agent or other AI-assisted features. Users can use a supported local model or connect a third-party model using their own API credentials.
Xishang Technology does not operate an AI gateway that resells model tokens for this application. When you choose a third-party AI provider, requests are sent directly to the provider selected by you and are subject to that provider's privacy policy, terms, pricing, and data-handling practices.
User-provided API keys are intended to be stored locally on the Windows device and, where supported, protected using Windows security mechanisms such as DPAPI. They are not intended to be stored in Supabase or application logs.
Only send project data to an external AI provider when you are authorized to do so. If a project contains proprietary foundry, PDK, NDA, customer, or confidential information, you are responsible for deciding whether it may be shared with the selected AI provider.
5. Deterministic Solvers and AI Output
Engineering calculations such as mode solving, waveguide analysis, dispersion, coupling, loss, ring resonator analysis, electro-optic modulation, S-parameter analysis, link budget, BER/Q-factor/OSNR, DSP-related calculations, sweeps, tolerance analysis, and optimization are produced by the application's engineering models and solvers.
AI features may assist with planning, interpretation, tool selection, or report drafting. AI-generated explanations are not a substitute for solver results, foundry specifications, measurements, or professional engineering validation.
6. Local Storage
The application may store project files, settings, simulation configurations, saved layouts, imported data references, generated plots, reports, local-model settings, authorization caches, and other application state on the user's device.
Users control their local project files and may delete them from the applicable folders or through available application controls.
7. How We Use Information
- Authenticate users and maintain account access
- Verify and restore Microsoft Store entitlements
- Provide licensed features and offline authorization
- Operate and secure the application
- Provide customer support
- Diagnose account, entitlement, or application problems
We do not sell personal information and do not use user engineering projects for advertising profiling.
8. Third-Party Services
- Supabase may be used for authentication and entitlement-related services.
- Microsoft Store may be used for distribution, payment, licensing, and purchase restoration.
- User-selected AI providers are contacted only when you configure and invoke those integrations.
9. Data Retention and Security
Account and entitlement information may be retained as needed to maintain licensed access, restore purchases, provide support, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Local project and simulation data remains under the user's control until deleted by the user.
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no security system can guarantee absolute protection.
10. User Rights and Requests
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may request information about, correction of, or deletion of certain personal information associated with your account. Some transaction, security, entitlement, or anti-fraud records may need to be retained where necessary.
11. Engineering and Research Disclaimer
The application is intended for engineering, research, education, and design exploration. Important results should be independently validated against measurements, reliable references, foundry data, manufacturer specifications, or other appropriate engineering methods before fabrication or deployment.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the application, AI integrations, third-party services, or legal requirements change.
