Privacy information for EMWave accounts, Microsoft Store licensing, device authorization, scientific data, service providers, security, and user rights.

This Privacy Policy explains how EMWave collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the EMWave desktop application and related services.

1. Information We Collect

EMWave collects only the information reasonably necessary to provide account, licensing, purchase verification, and application services.

If you create an EMWave account, we may process:

Passwords are handled through our authentication provider and are not stored by us in readable plain-text form.

1.2 Microsoft Store Purchase and License Information

If you purchase or restore EMWave Pro through the Microsoft Store, EMWave may process information required to verify your license, including:

  • Microsoft Store product entitlement status
  • Purchase verification result
  • EMWave Pro license status
  • Store-related identifiers necessary for entitlement verification
  • Time of license verification or restoration

Payment information such as credit card numbers, billing details, or payment credentials is processed by Microsoft.

EMWave does not directly collect or store your credit card or payment information.

1.3 Device Authorization Information

EMWave may maintain limited device authorization information in order to support license restoration, device limits, and offline authorization.

  • A device registration identifier generated or used by EMWave

  • Last successful authorization time

1.4 Scientific and Research Data

EMWave allows users to work with electromagnetic simulation, measurement, calibration, analysis, and research data.

EMWave processes such data as part of the software's research and analysis functionality.

We use Resend to help deliver transactional emails such as account verification emails.

Resend may process email addresses and technical delivery information required to send these messages.

Microsoft

Microsoft services are used for EMWave distribution and Pro licensing, including:

  • Microsoft Store
  • Microsoft Store purchases
  • Microsoft Store entitlement verification
  • Microsoft account and related Store services
  • Microsoft Entra services used in connection with Store entitlement verification

Microsoft processes payment and Store account information under its own privacy terms.

5. EMWave Pro Purchases

EMWave Pro is offered as a Microsoft Store add-on.

When you purchase EMWave Pro:

  1. The purchase is processed by Microsoft.
  2. Microsoft determines whether the Store transaction is successful.
  3. EMWave verifies the relevant Store entitlement.
  4. EMWave may associate the verified entitlement with your EMWave account.
  5. The corresponding Pro license status is stored so that your purchase can be restored.

EMWave does not receive your full payment card information.

6. Offline Authorization

EMWave may allow an authenticated Pro license to remain temporarily usable without continuously contacting our servers.

For example, EMWave may store limited local authorization information after successful license verification.

This information is used only to provide software functionality and license validation.

Periodic online verification may be required to maintain or restore authorization.

7. Device Limits

To prevent unauthorized license sharing, EMWave may limit the number of devices associated with an account or license.

Device-related information used for this purpose is limited to what is reasonably necessary to:

  • Recognize authorized installations
  • Enforce device limits
  • Restore licenses
  • Prevent abuse

We do not use this information for advertising or behavioral profiling.

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share limited information with service providers only when necessary to operate EMWave, including providers responsible for:

Please note that deleting an EMWave account does not automatically cancel, refund, or remove a Microsoft Store purchase. Microsoft Store purchases are governed separately by Microsoft.

13. Children's Privacy

EMWave is an engineering and scientific software application and is not specifically directed toward children.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for advertising or profiling purposes.

14. International Processing

Our service providers may operate infrastructure in different countries or regions.

As a result, information necessary for authentication, email delivery, licensing, and related services may be processed outside your country of residence.
